Purple Labs expands into China; LiMo fans across Asia rejoice

A leading supplier of embedded Linux solutions for mobile phones and a recent member of the LiMo Foundation, Purple Labs, announced that it has opened a new office in Beijing, China, as well as the version of its website in Chinese language, to “provide full local technical support and expand its sales opportunities throughout the region.”

Purple LabsAnd while I’m not sure why I’m writing about this, I guess it’s the overall mobile Linux market that suddenly revived in the media, following Google (NSDQ: GOOG)’s Android platform and Open Handset Alliance announcements.

Anyway, Purple Labs made sure their Beijing office is led by the true professional, hence they’ve appointed Gordon Tsang as the general manager and senior VP of sales in Asia. Tsang brings more than 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry with an impressive track record of business and sales achievements in the Asia Pacific marketplace, including executive positions at Zi Corporation, Magic4 and Openwave Systems…
