HTC Pharos P3470 – for those who think the HTC Touch is too pretty

Behold the HTC Pharos P3470. By the looks of it,this thing is the ugly-duckling little brother of the HTC Touch. We’re looking for this HTC Pharos P3470 to bring up the lower-end of HTC’s lineup.
For those that think the HTC Touch is a little too pretty for their tastes and want to trade GPS for WiFi, the HTC Pharos P3470 should be the perfect fit. With a 200Mhz TI OMAP850 processor, 256MB ROM/128MB RAM, Bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera, and integrated GPS, this low-end device’s spec-sheet isn’t all that disappointing. We’re going to assume that the lower-priced HTC Pharos P3470 is aimed at those that are willing to save a few bucks on an HTC Touch-like device, in return for putting up with that ugly-mug.
It looks like Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional is running the show with some TouchFLO sprinkled on top for good measure.
And, integrated GPS in a lower-end smartphone? Times sure are a-changin’ – and that’s a good thing.
Word has it that the HTC Pharos will be debuted in March, just in time for CeBIT.
