UK: Motorola V8 Luxury now available at Phones4U

Motorola were kind enough to send me an email just now, informing me that the Motorola V8 Luxury is available at Phones4U (one of the well-known high-street retailers in the UK)….
Obviously we’ve known about the V8 for quite some time, but it’s interesting to see some direct marketing email supporting it - so I became a ‘click-through’ victim and followed the link….
Delving in to the Phones4U website that the email links to, it would appear you have to be signed up to an Orange 18-month ‘Dolphin’ contract to get the handset for free. That being the case, I decided to check out the SIM-free price over at Expansys - turns out it’s a wallet-stretching £474.95 (as of 18/1/08). Crumbs!

I’m confused…
When was the last time you saw an adult using any sort of RAZR in the UK? Why do they keep churning them out! Also, at that price I could easily get a brand new unlocked N95 8GB!
Madness!
