Motorola trims TTPCom

Motorola (NYSE: MOT) is losing 155 staff at the Cambridgeshire base where TTPCom, a company that Moto bought in March 2006, is located….
TTPCom (who I have had personal experience of, and thought were impressive at the time), specialized in a Mobile Handset Platform, including both the lower-layer O/S and upper-layer GUI.
It’s unfortunate that this series of events has come to pass, especially as it deals another blow to an already beleaguered Motorola.Let’s hope Moto recover well and produce some more market segment-leading handsets, as they have done previously.
