Orange Applies for 2 DVB-H Mobile TV Licences (in France)

Orange has applied for 2 DVB-H channels in France, in response to a call for applications made by the French Audiovisual Council. The first is Orange Sports TV, which is already available via 3G Unicast (streaming). Orange Sports TV is a sports information channel, launched originally in September 2007. The second channel is OTV, targeted at 15-35 year olds who follow new technology, and are the kind of ‘early adopters’ that will make mass-market Personal TV a success. Programmes will be specifically targeted for the mobile viewing format.
