T-Mobile is going to start trialling Femtocells in the 2nd Quarter of this year, in Germany, Netherlands, and the UK….

It may also push a limited deployment out before the end of the year. Femtocells are small cellular base stations that use broadband to extend the reach of a wirless network, especially indoors. You can find a great article on it at Wikipedia

T-Mobile’s recent announcement with 3 is also aimed at improving the coverage of high-bandwidth networks, albeit via different means.

T-Mobile’s UK CTO, Emin Gurdenli, also said that there could be room for more than one technology, above and beyond the current 3G networks.
