Samsung Blackjack II hits Rogers as “Jack”

File this under “weird,” as Canadian Rogers (NYSE: RCI) Wireless added the Samsung Blackjack II to its offering as “Jack.” We do agree simply “Jack” sounds way more memorable, but then again this is the first time we’re aware that someone renamed the popular Blackjack smartphone. Whatever the reason is, it’s good to see the GSM carrier bringing the popular Windows Mobile smartphone to Canada.
Those not familiar should know this device is almost the “Jack” of all trades. The almost part is there to emphasize the lack of WiFi, but other then that it has everything else — including HSDPA, GPS, stereo Bluetooth, full QWERTY keyboard, and microSD slot for storage capacity expansion. Windows Mobile 6 is running the show…
And the price, you ask? It starts from $199.99 with a 3-year term, and goes way up to $399.99 with a single year contract. More information is available from Rogers’ website.
