Unlock your AT&T Tilt 8925 to work on any GSM network - Turn your AT&T Tilt into an HTC Kaiser TyTn II

By Will Park on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008 at 2:14 PM PST In AT&T, Announcements, Developer, HTC, Windows Mobile

AT&T Tilt 8925 gets unlocked to work on any GSM networkWhile HTC Kaiser TyTn II owners are enjoying the ability to surf any GSM network in the world, AT&T (NYSE: T) customers with a brand-new AT&T Tilt 8925 are stuck with the AT&T-flavored GSM network. Nevermind that HTC has been sued over the lack of a graphics hardware driver, a problem which also afflicts the HTC Kaiser TyTn II.  HTC sells their mobile phones unlocked out of the box, but AT&T locked the GSM radio in their version of the HTC Kaiser - until now.

XDA-Developer forums user, jockyw2001, has posted instructions on how to fully unlock (SIM unlock) your AT&T Tilt 8925 to work on any GSM network in your country. And, if you need to travel abroad and your AT&T Tilt doesn’t like to play nice on foreign networks, jockyw2001 has posted instructions to make that happen as well (SuperCID).

Head on over to XDA-Developer forums to get your hands on the AT&T Tilt unlock and SuperCID solutions.

i have the at&t tilt and i reset a password but i can’t remember it when i called the at&t they gave me a PUK code which didnt work so is there away to unlock my phone without erasing everything

  4. To minimize hassle I would go back to AT&T since they gave you a password initially, they should be willing to research again for you, but incase they don’t prepare to search for xda-developers “SIMunlock” in google. You will have to flash your phones ROM in a special bootloader mode which can be confusing if your not technically inclined. Works with Windows Mobile 6.0 so be careful of vers 6.1 Pro its not fully expected to work properly.

I have a refurbished Tilt passed down from a friend, and when I insert my Sim card my contact list won’t show up. I’ve tried three different ways of pulling up my contact list and yet none of my numbers show. It just shows my call history. Does anyone know a way I can fix this?
