Bell Mobility goes live with White HTC Touch

By Will Park on Wednesday, January 30th, 2008 at 12:51 PM PST In Announcements, Bell Mobility, Devices, HTC, Windows Mobile

Bell Mobility launches White HTC TouchWe’ve been on the lookout for the White HTC Touch for some time now, and it seems that the first CDMA carrier to get dibs on this fresh HTC Touch-variant is Bell Mobility. The Canadian carrier beat out Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Wireless to the punch on this handset, but interestingly doesn’t make any mention of the GPS hardware that’s been speculated to be hiding out in the Verizon Wireless variant of the White HTC Touch (Verizon XV6900).

Other than the lack of reference to GPS features, the Bell Mobility HTC Touch should be rocking the same 2 megapixel camera, EVDO, and Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional (with TouchFLO) that we’ve come to expect.

Canadians can drop a cool CAD$ 99.95 and sign a 3-year contract to get their hands on the White HTC Touch. Or, a steeper CAD$ 399.95 nets you the White beauty with no strings attached.

Be it white, black, yellow or red, as an old school guy that likes pushing buttons, this new itouch is the way to go. I have been a dedicated Samsung user for over 10 years but, sorry to say I have moved on to the NEW WORLD. I’ve had this for 3 days now and I can assure you it is without a doubt a GREAT PDA/CELLPHONE/Multi tasking unit with great battery life too. I understand that if the battery oges in the Apple iphone it is garbage but battery problems an be fixed with a new battery in the itouch phone. The act that I can access and EDIT Microsoft documents, someting you can’t do on either the iPhone or Blackberry’s is another advantage. Somehow there is a PUSH system that forwards your emails immediately, just like a blackberry. Texting is a snap, the pictures are greatand very clear and the shutter speed works fantastically, even the video works great when you’re walking and bouncing along. Video length is limited only by the size of your Micro sd card up to 8 gigs from what I understand, WOW!!!. It even comes with a belt holder that works and is user friendly as well, a $30 savings over other phones. with 3 ways to input data, touch stylus, and touchpad schroller it’s great to work with, plus everything is very clear. Plain and simple I LOVE IT. You cannot get better unlimited internet access for $7 a month, plus a cellphone to boot. LOOK OUT iPhone, if Bell and Telus and hopefully Virgin market this right iTouch will easily out sell the iPhone.
