Nokia 3120 Classic: Cheap 3G and video calls
By Stefan Constantinescu on Tuesday, February 5th, 2008 at 7:30 AM PST In Devices, Nokia, Symbian
Nokia (NYSE: NOK) just announced the 3120 Classic, not on their press site, but on their press bulletin board. I found this to be slightly weird, but on to the news:
The 3120 Classic has a 2 inch 240×320 screen, 2 megapixel camera on the back, video camera on the front, memory card slot and will be available in graphite, plum/powder white, deep red and chestnut brown. All that for 150 euros, not too shabby. I wish I had more tech specs to share, but this is all for now, promise to update this post once I get more details.
Update: We’ve got more details. The device runs S40, comes with Opera Mini preinstalled, Bluetooth 2.0, 2.5 mm headphone jack, 16 million color screen, quad band GSM/EDGE and dual band 3G, there will be 3 versions of this phone: one with dual band 3G 850/2100, 850/1900 and finally 900/2100, 1000 mAh battery, weighs 85 grams and is 111.3 x 45.4 x 13.4 mm. Pretty amazing for 150 euros when you think about it, it is quite handsome if i do say so myself. Comes out in Q2.

I don’t get the point of 3G phones with small screens and S40… Why would someone want that for web-browsing? Is Video Call that popular?
@PlayerKill:
Good points, but I think there is still reason to celebrate for us here in the states because it shows that Nokia is willing to cover all tiers of the market with a decent 3G phone. If this is the direction Nokia is going, I’m all for it.
Also, Opera isn’t too bad for browsing, but I agree with you that it could get rather dull on such a small screen -
they need to get an S60 phone this cheap and in this form factor, then we’re talking.
Hi there! If anyone would like to read a full review of the phone, than go check it out at http://mobilearsenal.com/review/nokia_3120_classic_next_level/introduction.html
Sir i whether the front camera is only given as a show piece or it is working because whenever i start the camera there is no option for front camera. So please reply me…..
