Motorola announces Z6w, W161, and W181

It’s kinda clear Motorola have seen better times. But announcing two low-end phones and an update to the existing one seems more than pathetic. Samsung showed us some high-end Symbian love and so has Nokia. LG presented its beautiful devices… What are you doing MOTO? There is no such thing as “safe place” in the ever competitive mobile phone marketplace. Two of the devices you’ve showed us — W181 and W161 — seem designed for emerging markets, while the third, Z6w, is the WiFi-enabled Z6m. How that competes with handsets from Finland, Sweden and Korea? Well, MOTO you suck! And that being said doesn’t do me any good. I honestly want to see the American handset maker getting back into the game. Show us more of that UIQ love. Add some QWERTY there and you’ll have many amazed, myself included. In the meantime folks, look elsewhere for better mobile phones…

Well to be fair there was the E8, U9, V8 gold and Z10, being the Z10 a nice Symbian in a sexy form factor.

      Dusan,

Way to go to call ‘em on it. Moto really does suck altho they did not always. They started the whole Mobile thing - remember? It was Zander and Warrior who drove Moto into the ground. It takes more than talk and bravado. Sadly, under the leadership of the duly departed (Dumb and Dumber), Moto lost its groove.

Yeah I hope they’ll get back in shape. I love the Q9’s look, just want to see it running UIQ or maybe even Android. Now that would be something…
