Symbian OS – 77.3 million Symbian smartphones shipped in 2007

Symbian logoRight. While other smartphone platforms are holding onto sales figures in the single-digit millions, Symbian Limited (the Symbian OS developers) has announced at that they’ve shipped 77.3 million smartphones outfitted with Symbian OS in 2007.

That’s a 50% year-on-year increase in Symbian OS smartphone shipments worldwide. Yeah, Windows Mobile and Apple have a long way to go. We’ll see how the new Sony Ericsson/Windows Mobile collaboration fares for the WinMo camp.
