HTC will manufacture Sony Ericsson Xperia X1?

File this under “it’s probably true, yet we can’t confirm it,” but according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) – it’s HTC which will make Xperia X1 for Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE). The Taiwan based smartphone maker certainly has the needed experience in Windows Mobile device manufacturing and has already manufactured devices for other companies (Palm (NSDQ: PALM)).
Still, I doubt we’ll hear any of the involved parties talking about it in public, and at this stage you can only believe it or not. At the end, it’s not that important who makes the device as long as it works perfectly…

X1 is a ODM model by HTS, means HTC design this model for SonyEricsson.
Im verry shocked to hear it!! In other way i dont care about it because i prefer to use a nokia phone. Only i can say than i was in better thoughts about sonyericsson company.
i can confirm htc deffinatly make the x1 ! i have one and when you go through the setup menu on first boot and it does all its config and shit it even says htc this htc that looking at the phone even at a glance its htc its obvious yeh sure its curved and 99.8% htcs arnt but apat from the curve its almost identicle to every othe htc phone in its class it will even take an htc branded rom and out the box it will take htc only apps ! iv seen a lot of ppl commenting on htcs build quality and they go on to say the x1 is sony an much better build but its the same ! probably even made in the same factory as tytn2 touch /pro etc
