We knew this is coming and now it’s official. AT&T customers can grab the small Palm OS-based Centro smartphone for $99 with an appropriate contract. Those that were looking forward to have some “HSDPA fun” while on-the-go will be sad to learn AT&T’s, just like the European version, Centro lacks 3G. It’s the EDGE “speeds” you’ll have to rely on.
Two colors are available — “Glacier White” and “Obsidian Black” — so if you’re really that much into Centro and don’t want to switch your carrier, here’s the link to the AT&T’s page with more information. Otherwise Centro fans should go the “Sprint way,” where they can grab the much faster EV-DO version.
