Bluetooth button re-program hack for Windows MobileEver wish you could tweak that Bluetooth shortcut button on your Windows Mobile smartphone to do something else? Do you just need an extra shortcut button? Well, you can re-program your Bluetooth shortcut button by adding it to your “Buttons” settings.

Here’s how you do it:

If you want a bit more of a challenge, add these keys to your Windows Mobile device’s registry (from EtenBlog):

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C6

    [String Value] @=”\”\\Windows\\Start Menu\\Programmi\\Voice Commander\\Voice Commander.lnk\” -b”
    [DWORD] “Flags”=dword:00000000
    [DWORD] “WndCls”=””
    [DWORD] “ResetFlag”=dword:00000009
    [String Value] “Icon”=”\\windows\\BluetoothManager.exe, 0?
    [String Value] “Name”=”Bluetooth Headset Button”
    [String Value] “ResetCmd”=”\”\\Windows\\Start Menu\\Programmi\\Voice Commander\\Voice Commander.lnk\” -b”

Either way, what you’ll end up with is a new “Buttons” settings menu that lets you re-program/re-assign the Bluetooth shortcut button to whatever function you please (Voice Commander, Camera, GPS, etc.).

Love it? Hate it? Leave a comment.
