New SpinVox plug-in links voicemails with contacts

The nice thing about the iPhone’s Visual Voicemail system is that you can not only choose which voicemail you want to listen to (playing them back and repeating selected portions at will), but you can also choose to reply to the sender if they’re in your “Contacts” list. It’s pretty handy - iPhone users don’t have to figure out who left the voicemail and then go through their contacts list to hunt down that person’s phone number.
Well, SpinVox realized just how useful that kind of voicemail-to-contact cross-referencing can be. The company that brought BlackBerry users the voicemail-to-text application is now offering a new plug-in that links the voicemail transcription to a contact in the BlackBerry’s address book. The user can then choose to email or text message.
SpinVox is offering the plug-in for £5 (about $10) per year, in addition to the normal SpinVox costs. Get in on the trial-period to see if this is something you’d like to use.

There is a powerful visual voicemail application for BlackBerry already available called SimulSays. SimulSays integrates with the users’ contact list and enables users to reply to voice messages by phone, SMS or email. Users can selectively retrieve which voicemail to access in the application and can both listen to and read their voicemail. SimulSays is available at http://www.simulsays.com
