Research and Markets: Two trillion SMS this year

People all around the world keep texting like crazy. According to Research and Markets’ latest report, over 2 trillion (2 followed by 12 zeros) messages will be sent worldwide this year, with expected revenue from text messaging to account for around $65-75 billion. However, while the overall mobile messaging traffic volumes will increase, revenues are expected to slightly dampen down messaging revenue growth, thanks to the market saturation and increasing competition.
