Samsung named highest in customer loyalty in mobile phone space - Brand Keys Loyalty awardSure, it’s nice to be a huge mobile phone manufacturer, but what good is that distinction if your customers don’t come back for their next purchase? Well, Samsung seems to know the secret to attracting customers and keeping them smitten with their wares. The Brand Keys Customer Loyalty Engagement Index has just named Samsung as tops in customer brand loyalty among mobile phone brands.

“The Brand Keys Customer Loyalty Award is a significant honor because it is based directly on consumer feedback,” said Bill Ogle, Chief Marketing Officer at Samsung Telecommunications America, adding that, “Winning this award shows Samsung makes great phones and connects emotionally as a brand.”

Samsung is the only handset manufacturer to clinch consecutive titles since 2001. And, with the Samsung G810 and Samsung Soul slated for this year, the South Korean cellphone maker is looking to have another good year.

No, it shows that consumers buy into a brand rather than picking the device that is made better, offers better features, fits their needs, etc. Buying into brands is dumb. Samsung is not infallable, nor is Apple, RIM, Nokia, etc.

I buy the phone that fits my needs, regardless of whose name is stamped on it. THAT is what being a smart consumer is about.
