Ewan Spece from All About Symbian is in the states for MIX 08 and he had an opportunity to sit down for 10 minutes with Brad Becker, Group Product Manager for the User Experience Platform and Tools Marketing Group at Microsoft to discuss Silverlight for Nokia’s S40, S60 and Maemo platforms.

Questions asked include:

  • What makes Silverlight the best write once run everywhere solution, Sun tried that with J2ME and Adobe with Flash Lite?
  • How will you distribute Silverlight on mobile handsets?
  • Is Windows Mobile for Enterprise and Nokia/S60 for Multimedia?
  • How big (megabytes) is the runtime, around 4-5 MB like the desktop version?
  • Can you show me Silverlight running on a mobile device? (Hint: The answer is yes!)

Make sure to check out Ewan’s personal site where he has his own video show, definitely one of the funniest down to earth people I know.
