UK: N96 incoming for August 08!

Mobile Choice is reporting that Carphone Warehouse is listing the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N96 as “coming soon” for August 08! We all know the specs, so I won’t re-list them, however, what’s interesting is what else is also coming at around about that time….
First of all we have the Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) C902, due June 08. Next we have the Samsung “Soul” U900 (actually this one is due a little earlier in April 08, according to the site – but dates can slip, as we know…!)
Overall then, the next 6 months should be a great time for anyone whose contract is coming to an end – a case of something for everyone!

Well…That’s dissapointing. The Nokia N95 started selling in april ‘07 which means that in the 16 months between the N95 and N96 coming to the shops, Nokia have only been able to make a few changes in design and add 1 or 2 new features.
Mr-X – I agree totally. My contract is due at the end of this month what are N95 early adoptors supposed to do? Most likely I’ll be going for the highest value handset to sell in anticipation of the next decent phone. It seems that Nokia are dropping the ball on this – The N series phones are improving however slowly, the S60 platform needs a hell of a lot of work and very little has been done – that on top of slow development of hardware. The iphone 2 is the only hope of anything interesting coming soon.
And who gives? Like Mr-X said only a few features ahead of the N95.. not impressed. Nokia has missed the boat this time, I hope for them that the N95 hype lingers on.
Ben, what about the Samsung G810? Do you have any insider secret release dates on that bad boy?
14th April – so say zeee Carphone Warehouse website – given they’ve got a specific date, I’d say that was quite likely

I’m more interested in the May date for the N78. My old 18 month contract on my N93 just ran out and I’m seriously looking forward to a snappy interface.
Well I really like the N96 it be one awsome good phone but today the N95 8GB rules and be real good price for N95 and also N82 into August
