Google preparing sample apps for Android; WikiNotes released first
By Dusan Belic on Tuesday, March 11th, 2008 at 6:26 AM PST In Announcements, Developer, Linux
Nothing helps developers in their learning the “secrets of the trade” like the good ol’ example apps. Google (NSDQ: GOOG) knows that hence they’ve started assembling Google Code repository called “apps-for-android” where interested developers will be able to grab sample apps’ source code.
The first application called WikiNotes is already there, and we guess in the coming weeks and months we’ll see more apps added to the repository. In the meantime, if you’re interested in developing for what could be one of the dominant smartphone platforms in the future, you could go through WikiNotes, which is a rich text editor “designed to be as simple as possible while still demonstrating several major concepts of the Android platform.”
What are you waiting for? Google provides you with SDK and examples, while you can count on exposure on IntoMobile in case you develop something interesting. Good luck!

There are no devices, why would anybody develop for not existent virtual device? what’s the point?
There will be soon, so it would be a good ideá to get a head start. Also, I belive you can already install it on any MS based device, you just have to delete the MS ofcourse. (correct me if I’m wrong)

Hi,
I recently bought a G1 from German t-mobile.
I like the WikiNote application.
Is there a way of opening and editing the notes on my (windows) laptop?
Thanks in advance.
Best,
