Another Mobile Advertising company: GoldSpot Media

I recently received a PR communication about GoldSpot Media having procured some new senior management hires. That being the case, and also given that GoldSpot is working in mobile video advertising, I thought I would take myself over to their website for a looksie – you might remember that I’ve posted before on Mobile Advertising (as have the other Editors), since it is one of the “next big things”….
So here is GoldSpot’s view on Mobile Advertising:
So in essence these guys are one of a wave of new companies cropping up, looking to leverage the move to make some rich media content (namely video) free/subsidised to the end-user, in return for watching adverts. Of course, these adverts are inserted either at the beginning (pre-roll) or during (mid-roll) the chosen video content, so that it can be ensured that they are seen. And obviously, the ads should be targeted – just how targeted, and based on what data, remains to be seen.
So, with the advent of another company in this space, I pose the question again to the IntoMobile readership – will you tolerate ads in your content in return for cheaper consumption? Or would you rather not pay to begin with?! My view is that for streaming content I don’t mind ads, but for download video that I’ll keep, I don’t want ads interwoven – thoughts…….?
(If you want to check out GoldSpot Media’s site, you can do so here)

For download video that I’ll keep and play again and again, I will pay for something that will give me pleasure repeatedly. But for one time view and toss away, I won’t pay – for example to see Ronaldhino’s latest goal on my tiny itty bitty device.
