32 UK: 3 Extends Cheap International Calls Deal

3 has extended its Pay As You Go offering with the introduction of international calls and texts to Poland, India and Pakistan for the same price as local UK calls until 31st August 2008.

The operator’s Flat 12 top-up tariff, which provides 12p a minute calls to UK mobiles and landlines had now been extended to improve ever expanding services for Pay As You Go Customers.

The tariff also includes free voicemails and a selection of popular add-ons that can be purchased to provide extra music downloads, various text bundles, weekly internet usage and mobile games and television.

Comment: what a great move for Prepay customers - getting decent rates abroad - 3 should be commended for making moves in this area, anything that brings down roaming costs is fine by me!!

The “comment” at the bottom of the article is totally wrong. This offer is for international calling NOT international roaming. It’s just an offer for all of the Poles, Pakistanis and Indians living in the UK to call home (it’s a big market, trust me).

Sounds good - but when the promotion is over, it’s gonna be back to using Skype, Extracall.com and phone cards. Also, 3 charges 12p/minute - which is much higher than many prviders charge for calls to Poland, India and Pakistan. I wonder how 3’s Skypephone would work if you had one here in the UK and sent a second one to someone abroad?
Thanks for the heads up though!

  3. Hi Alex,
One of my friend Kriss from UK has presented me with 3`s Skypephone. It works perfectly in India, just as usual need to connect the base station to router.
