Verizon VX9100 gets real - LG enV2 on the horizon

If the LG Voyager’s huge external touchscreen isn’t your cup of tea, Verizon’s got your back with the LG VX9100. With a smaller external display and dedicated external keypad that flips open to reveal a full-QWERTY keyboard and stereo speakers, the LG VX9100 is a smaller, slimmer offering for text-messaging aficionados. Now, you might have thought that the LG VX10000 Voyager was thought to be Verizon’s successor to the original LG VX9900 enV, but then you’d be wrong. Verizon is apparently looking to bring in the LG VX9100 as the LG “enV2″ - a true-blue successor in both name and form.
We’re hearing that Black and Maroon are first up on the LG enV2’s color palette, which should offer a bit more appeal than the original LG VX9900 enV’s launch in Black.
From the photos it’s clear that miniUSB or microUSB are in the cards for the LG enV2, as is a microSD card slot. And, word has it that there’s a 2 megapixel shooter in there.
Hopefully, we’ll see Verizon launch this handset soon. Pricing is not yet known, but it’s safe to say that it’s going to be a bit more affordable than the LG Voyager VX10000.

I have the enV, which has a 2.0 mega pixel camera, not a 1.3 as you state here, so that is not an upgrade.

Uhh, you’re stupid.
First the enV was silver at it’s first launch, not black.
Second, it’s 2 megapixels.
AND it already has microSD
are you getting the original enV, the VX 9900 confused with the V (VX 9800)?

does anyone know what the maroon version looks like when it’s closed? is it all black still, does it have black with maroon accents, or is it all maroon? anyone know?

The enV2 is a stupid idea.
First, there’s only an up and down key on the front.
second, the keypad looks crammed together.
And third, the outside screen looks longer, but smaller

I like the newer look. I am available for a upgrade now, I was going to get the EnV but now that I see this coming out I might hold off. I like the slimmer look. does anyone know a release date?

it was released today, 4/22, i called about my new every two and they said its now availble. im not sure if its in store and i cant find it on there website but i know you can get it by calling them. now im just pondering if its the one i want or not!

I ordered mine on 4/22 and just got it today! its pretty sweet so far! ive only had it for a couple hours so i cant write much of a review. i got mine through *611 with my new every two, they said it was available through direct fulfillment only (whatever that means) but im super excited about it!

I had just come from the Verizon store today and stumbled upon the env2. It was on display so I think you can get it today, April 28, though my brother perferred his orignal env compared to the newer “version”.

omg, so i am really excited for this to come outt already. because my friend and i want it really bad. so we can get intouch at aconcert this weekend. but we’re having trouble deciding upon which color will make us the happiest.

I got the black one, i think it looks more sleek than the other color. for the price i paid 79.99 but that was with my new every two upgrade but on the sheet i got its 349.99 retail and 179.99 with a new two year contract and you get a $50 mail in rebate so it would only be 129.99 with a new contract

i just got this phone yesterday i love it its so small compared to my sisters EnV its sleek it looks really really nice i have no dislikes about it! mine was 94 dollars but i also got a 50 dollar mail in rebate so its only cost me like 44$ i guess my dad got a discount for working for the state or something! but overall this is a great phone!

I love the look of this one alot more then the first! It is $79.99 but after you send for the $50 Mail-in-rebate. So you pay $129.99 in the store and you get the $50 back.
If you never got the mail in rebate then go back to the store you got it from and tell them you didn’t get it. They should be more then happy to give you a copy and tell you how to send it.

I luv the new enV2 its awsome but i wish the front screen was a little bigger it makes it look like a calculator but i guess thats ok there is still that huge screen on the inside but does anyone kno if you can take pix with it open oh and is it really easy to type with the little keys cause i have the samsung alias and it gets pretty frustrating trying to use that qwerty keyboard and can you play games cause i luv playing games on my phone.

Alright… I have the enV, and its the greatest phone ever. The enV2 is STUPID!!! Its too small, the keyboard is all crammed together, and you can’t see the front screen very well…

the enV only holds 50 messages the enV2 holds a lot more plus the enV2 is way by far smaller and the enV2 may have a small screen on front but why do you need a big one and if you flip open up the enV2 and go to camera to take picture turn it around it will show you the picture while your taking it the enV’s screen would just turn black the enV has to small of buttons plus for some people hard to fit in pocket the enV2 can fit perfectly fine in a pocket now wich one do you think is better the enV or the enV2?

ive had mine for about a month now and i think its a million times better than the enV! the front screen is small but the inside screen is large than the enV and makes up for the front one. so far i have liked everything about it, it has more and cooler themes than the old one. its also much more sleek and fits in my pocket really nicely. so far the camera has been amazing (compared to my brick VX8100). this phone has a ton more of cool features than listed or that i can write about but i highly recommend it! it has all the features you want and the bluetooth actually can transfer pictures to other capable phones and files to computers! the only thing i havent tried is the Mp3 player, but it seems the same is all the other Vcast ones.

This phone is the best ever. It may have a small front screen but you barely use that one anyway. It’s so easy to text and the numbers on the front are bigger and easier to press than the old phone.

Well the cost of the Env2 is now $159.95 at Verizon stores today so I am not sure where you are coming up with this $129.95 price unless you are talking about buying it online

this phone is awesome it’s really nice and so what if the screen is too small there’s a bigger scren inside anyways, it take nice pictures and you can talk with while it’s open..so if you guys want a phone get the new env2 your not going to regret it…beleive me

I just got the env2 on 5/28 from verizon for $49.99 with my new every 2. My sister has the env and my roommate has the voyager and I like this phone way better. It does have a smaller front screen but that’s fine cause all you need it for is to see who is calling or what # you’re dialing. The keys on the front and inside or larger and easier to use. I think the phone is currently the best phone that verizon offers.

I just got the enV2 and love it so far, but someone please tell me, is there a way to turn on the lady that announces when you have messages?? I can’t find a place to shut her up. If on vibe you don’t hear her, of course, but on a ring and everyone knows who is texting you because “the voice” announces it!!!!

THE ENV2 IS AWESOME! I LIKE IT A LOT BETTER THAN THE FIRST ENV. IT’S SLIMMER THAN THE ENV. I LOVE THE BIGGER BUTTONS ON THE FRONT. I DON’T CARE IF THE SCREEN ON THE FRONT IS SMALLER BECAUSE WHO CARES ABOUT THE FRONT SCREEN? HAHA! YOU TEXT WITH THE KEYBOARD ANYWAYS. THE KEYBOARD BUTTONS ARE A LOT BIGGER AND THE INSIDE SCREEN IS A LOT BIGGER TOO. I LOVE HOW YOU CAN PUT ON A LITTLE SLIDE SHOW WITH YOUR PICTURES. THAT’S PRETTY COOL. THERE’S A LOT OF NEW RANDOM FEATURES THAT ARE COOL TOO! I’M HAPPY WITH THIS PHONE AND THAT’S ALL THAT MATTERS. =D

I paid $49.99 for it after I renewed my new every two plan. Awesome phone. I don’t get why people are complaining about the outer screen size, you don’t use it for anything besides seeing who’s calling you and such.

i love my env2 it is pretty sick. i actually like texting on the front screen as much as i do inside. the size of the outer screen does not bother me at all, i like it because the inside screen is huge and the buttons on the outside are large. My friend has the env and i didnt like it but when i saw the env2 i really liked the look and the size of it. If you text alot like i do i would definately recommend this phone!!! you wont regret it. So go buy it…but not the maroon one cause its kinda ugly

my sister is going 2 sleep away camp on 6/29 and im going the 30th. my mom said suggested we get my fone on the way back from driving her 2 camp. of course i want 2 get the env2, but my dad is still thinking about it and wen he thinks about it, its a 50/50 chance he will agree. and i need 2 get my fone before camp starts(i made a bet with my friend)any advice??????

i have the enV now. and my best friend has the enV2. i just had to replace my enV about 2 weeks ago. and some of the buttons are already not working and if i bring it in i get the enV2. i love my phone but it is pretty bulky. the enV2 looks pretty sweet but i heard that the camera doesnt have a flash. i take alot of pictures and the flash helps make the pictures look better. so my question is does it still take good pictures even without the flash?

The new ENV2 is ok. I actually like my old ENV better. I had the voyager for 3 weeks and took it back, I hated it.
