EU tells everyone to use DVB-H, again
By Stefan Constantinescu on Tuesday, March 18th, 2008 at 3:36 AM PST In DVB-H

Last year the EU said they would support DVB-H as the preferred standard for television on mobile phones, well today they did it again. Governments are now instructed to tell operators that they have to use DVB-H or else … well who knows what happens if you break the rules!
Some may argue that governments and technology should not mix, but to that I say look at what happened due to the decision to use GSM? Look at what happened in Japan and Korea where they basically said everyone needs broadband and every mobile phone needs to have GPS? Sometimes governments look after the best interest of the people, rare I know, but when they do then beautiful things come out of it.
