Half of all Japanese use their mobile phone in the bathWait, does anyone actually take baths anymore? I sure don’t. None of my friends (girls and guys) do either. I guess it’s popular in Japan.

A new study from Sega polled 16,250 people regarding their mobile phone use. Following on the absence of 2G mobile phone sales in January, the new report finds that the island-nation is all about using their 3G handsets wherever they go – even in the bath-tub. They found that 41.2% of all Japanese people had brought their cellphone with them while taking a bath at least once. Email, gaming, music player, whatever the reason, it seems that Japanese teenagers were more likely to risk drowning their handset for a quick cell-fix.

I always read up on my RSS feeds in the bathroom, except I’m not taking a bath or a shower…
