The Black Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N82, which we’ve seen several times, is finally official according to Nokia’s latest press release. The ability to geotag and upload straight to youtube is new and will most likely appear in a firmware update for all current N82 users. Price will be 400 Euros before taxes or subsidies and it will be available in a few weeks.
You can read my review here; summary: best phone on the market, it’s also what I currently use as my daily device.

Definitely more sexy than the silver!
Waoh that amazing ! Its real sexy and real good price for one of the best multiemedia phones today. 5MP Carl Zeiss camera with Xeonflash and GPS with more. Greate news.
Best phone on the market? I wonder what kind of drugs you’re smoking. Had one for about a month. How bad is the N82 you ask? Hmmm… Where do I begin? Horrible keypad… Piss poor screen – small and not bright enough… Flimsy camera cover, many times while the N82 was in my pocket it would activate the camera… And they call this piece of crap a multimedia computer. Laughable ! Was glad to give it away.
That’s just my personal opinion, I hope whoever got your N82 is happy using it.
What phone do you use now? What do you like about it? Always curious to know what my readers use.
Well Stefan, I definitely agree with you.
The Black N82 is:
> Has the best picture quality (my “personal” opinion)
> Extremely Sexy
The only downside I can see is that it doesn’t support us North Americans, and I am definitely not about to wait another 6 months for that.
I will be picking this up the first day it becomes available.
Stefan – it’s me again. I am using the E90 now. Ok… you can start flaming me now.
I know you like candybar phones and perhaps that is why your opinion of the N82 is clouded somehow.
C’mon… this thing (N82) is not even close to being the best phone on the market. Oh and did I mention the absolutely horrible, nasty, atrociouis d-pad ?
Yeah, the E90 is a little bigger (and BTW what is it with people’s obesession with microscopic sized phones?) but the size doesn’t bother me at all. I like a little weight to my phone, thanks Nokia for listening to your audience and making the phone a little bigger, not all your customers are teenagers that need to put their phones in their supertight jeans pockets! I’m a 6 feet 4 four man – I don’t have the smallest fingers, the N82 was a nightmare for me. The E90 is a man’s phone, not some plasticky toy for a pimple faced teenager. The E90 is a professional tool.
The screen on the E90 is gorgeous, perfect for reading/writing long emails and browsing the net, perfect for ebooks, perfect for viewing videos, etc. The qwerty keyboard is heaven and the camera is excellent too.
Build quality is excellent with metal parts. This thing is built like a tank, feels like it will last forever. Squeaky plasticky parts and moving battery cover driving you nuts? Get the E90 !
Trust me on this one: once you’ve used the E90 for a period of time, anything else will feel like a toy.
The E90 is nice, I agree with you 110% on that, but I just need a better camera than that. The Xenon flash helps a lot.
The N82 is snappier than the E90 too, but having owned an E61i I know where you’re coming from in terms of wanting the most robust product on the market.
No device is perfect and I guess we have to blame market segmentation on that, but that’s why I bet you change your phone once or twice a year like I do.
Yes, I do change phones once to twice a year
But ever since I got the E90 last August the urge to change phones is no longer there. I think I found my mobile heaven.
Obviously the camera on the N82 is better than the E90 one. 5mpx and Xenon flash help. But I think you would be suprised at how good the E90 camera is.
Ohh I want the sexy N82 cameraphone
