Symbian also provides freeware signed program where applications are signed with any cost incurred to the developer. To the author , please do your research more thoroughly before publishing an article.

you know, when you have dispute or haggling, the presence of 3rd parties is extremely stupid. Now you’ve taken that role of 3rd person yourself – you stay on Apple side and tell developers what shall be size of their mouth. I wonder now, when was the last time you’ve heard infamous IT IS NOT YOUR FCUKING BUSINESS?

and no, I am not (ask Stefan) that poor Indian startup guy (and his family) of which you’ve cut piece of lunch or even chance to go up and lucky – yet my daily job is to give them more chances to do that, but… now coming you, paid by Steven Almighty (or incredibly stupid to say that for free).

The Symbian certificate (from Trustcentre) is USD 200,– each year, not each three years and certainly not a one off cost.

Hold on –

Apple = 30% royalty and $99 developer-fee = 30% royalty and roughly $300 over a 3 year period. (No option of selling outside the apple store)

Symbian = $200 one off fee and no royalty.

In addition to kevin D’s comments above your post and post title is totally wrong.

RIM’s certificate now only costs $20 for Blackberry signing. And it’s good basically forever.

The iPhone cert seems to require a yearly $99 fee.
