Sprint BlackBerry Curve 8330 due out on April 16 – Telus too
By Will Park on Friday, March 21st, 2008 at 3:19 PM PST In Announcements, BlackBerry, Devices, RIM (Research in Motion), Sprint
Update:
Sprint (NYSE: S)’s version of the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Curve 8330 will reportedly rock a full 80MB of onboard storage, lightening the load on the microSD card slightly. The BlackBerry Curve 8330 on Sprint should also change things up a bit with the introduction of black keys. And, it looks like Telus (NYSE: TU) is set to get the BlackBerry Curve 8330 around the same time as Sprint.
No word on Sprint’s pricing, but Telus is going to demand $200 with a 3-year contract or $480 to purchase the BlackBerry Curve 8330 outright.
Well, Boy Genius has done it again. His source at Brightpoint has apparently given him a heads up on the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8330’s Sprint-network launch date. We’re looking for RIM to drop the 8330 Curve on Sprint customers come April 16 through Brightpoint and April 20 through all other channels.
The Sprint variant of the BlackBerry Curve 8330 will be rocking GPS, OS 4.3, 2.0 megapixel camera, video recording and voice notes – sadly, WiFi is not in the mix for the CDMA/EVDO smartphone.

Titanium Silver is the only color that we’re hearing will be offered, and expect to dole out a healthy $599.99 for the Sprint BlackBerry Curve 8330.
There’s also mention of the Sanyo Katana LX (in 3 colors) Sanyo (OTCPK: SANYY) Pro-200 and Pro-700 launching at around the same time. Hit up the chart above for more details.

Why would anyone believe Brightpoint on anything they said?
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=The+Brightpoint+Fraud&btnG=Google+Search
it doesn’t come out april 16th because it would be out already
What’s the deal with Sprint? When will they actually release the curve?
Release date is the 20th or 21st of April…most likely the 21st being that is a Monday.
I still find it hard to believe it’s going to arrive before Verizon’s does. I’ll believe it when I see it.
who knows when it is coming out. i have talked to various sprint reps and they confirmed that the release date should have been 4/20/08 but that it was delayed due to a technical issue. i have talked to 3 sprint reps who have said:
-by end of may
-before summer
-could be june
so looks to me that not even the sprint reps know at the stores, and may not know until only a couple days before the new release date.
hope they can solve the tech issue with the phone soon because i want it BAD
I just called sprint.
The first week of june 2008 will be the release for the Curve & Instinct. Grrr.
confirmed today 7th of may release official as hell
Just got off the phone with the CEO. The curve is comming out this afternoon!
still not showing on the website. so much for “official as hell” or for whatever the CEO says…
lol. no word from my sprint sales rep yet so I’m still waiting on a release time. lol. Good thing I’m not waiting in line to buy it. I’m still getting the HTC Touch Pro! Not a blackberry fan, sorry.
IT’s OUT, I OWN A SPRINT NEXTEL STORE AND I ORDERED MINE THIS MORNING. IT WILL BE IN TOMORROW. THEY WERE RELEASED TODAY 5.9.08 FOR ORDER THROUGH OUR SYSTEM. MATTL@COMSCAPESD.COM
Hey, That’s not fair! We don’t get ours till about 2 weeks from now because of the Sprint Affiliate Market we order through. *Crosses arms and pouts*
I ordered mine from Sprint.com yesterday!! I had gone into the store because I didn’t want to wait, but they were $50 more in the store. As high as gas is and figuring I’d waited this long for the phone so another day or two wouldn’t hurt… I went home and ordered online. I can’t wait for it to get here! I’m sooooo exicted!!
don’t be in a rush to get the curve from sprint…lots of bugs and at this point I am ready to return mine. good luck!
I have mine and I haven’t had any problems with it so far besides not being able to play .wmv files but that’s just a BB thing, not a phone defect.
