Sony Ericsson never ceases to surprise us with their loose-lipped handset leaks. Spy-shots and upcoming handset leaks coming out of Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) are almost expected, and with CTIA Las Vegas bearing down on us, we’ve got another handset leak to show you.
While the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 may have stolen the virtual spotlight from the rest of the company’s handset portfolio, there’s no end in sight for more mid- and low-end handsets from Sony Ericsson - they need the lower-end market more than ever. The Sony Ericsson “Emelie” is apparently a mid-range clamshell with an A200-based OS. Se-nse has revealed that the Emelie will be clad in metal, which we presume gives it a sleek look. There are also 18 curvy and sparkling keys on the inside of the flip. The navigation pad is unique, with separate directional keys and a orange-lit center joystick - definitely an interesting design

And, as a mid-ranger, don’t expect much more than the 240 x 320 pixel QVGA display, 2 megapixel camera (no auto-focus), and a smattering of Bluetooth and GSM radio frequency band support. We’re looking for the Sony Ericsson Emelie to hit a 150-200 Euro price point (about $231-$308 USD). CTIA looks to be the place to look for more on the Sony Ericsson Emelie.
