Those that are on Verizon (NYSE: VZ) and are considering to get some data package for their laptop may want to know that the CDMA carrier recently added a new plan to its offering. For $49.99 you can get 50MB of hi-speed EV-DO data per month, and at least partially experience a taste of freedom. The “partial” part is there to underline it’s only 50MB we’re talking about, hence we’re not advising the plan to YouTube and other bandwidth hungry service junkies. Email is in and I guess some limited use of web.
It’s kinda expensive, especially when you compare it with Cricket’s plan, which is a much better choice. Still, some Verizon fans may not find the new plan crippled at all. If you need it for backup purposes, this is it. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
