Sling Player coming to Symbian UIQ

I’m not sure why this haven’t happened before. After all, SlingMedia had its client for Symbian S60 for some time, and porting the app to the UIQ platform afterwards shouldn’t be that hard. UIQ Technology provides decent documentation for S60 developers who also want to develop for UIQ.

Anyway, SlingMedia finally got their things together and they’ll be rolling out SlingPlayer for UIQ this summer. Initially, the client will support Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE)’s P1, P990i, W960i, W950i and M600i, as well as Motorola (NYSE: MOT)’s MOTORIZR Z8. Then later, I guess it’s fair to say MOTO Z10 and Sony Ericsson’s recently announced G700 and G900 will also get in the mix. Stay tuned…
