BlackBerry finally coming to Russia on Vimpelcom

As expected, Research In Motion (RIM), makers of the addictive BlackBerry line of push-email enabled smartphones, has officially entered the Russian market. The largest country in the world has finally caught up with today's technological wizz-bangery and will be offering RIM's staid, business suit-friendly BlackBerry 8700g on Vimpelcom's network.
Following the Russian security agency's (FSB) approval of the push-emailing smartphones from RIM, British American Tobacco has placed the first order for a fleet of BlackBerry 8700g handsets. As you might recall, the BlackBerry 8700 is the same addictive handset that cracked the Chinese market, and represents the archetype of the BlackBerry lineup.
Vimpelcom is apparently in talks with 40 other potential corporate customers and rival carrier Mobile TeleSystems is also gearing up to offer the BlackBerry to even more business clients.
Welcome to the CrackBerry club, Russia. Just a quick heads up, prepare yourself for withdrawal-inducing BlackBerry email outages.
