The GPS PDA Phone Airis T482 is ready to hit the mobile market of France within the next few days. The device will sell for 424 EUR with France-only maps or for 478 EUR with Europe wide coverage. Details about the specs are still kinda sketchy, and so far we can confirm only such things as:GPS PDA Phone Airis T482

  • It’s a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) device, no 3G is mentioned
  • 3.2 inch touchscreen
  • WiFi, Bluetooth
  • Two processors are used – Marvel PXA270 processor and Philips Grangonfly SS6120
  • There will be at least 128 Mb of ROM and 64 Mb of RAM
  • GPS chip SiRFStar III and CoPilot Live 7 software are taking care of navigation
  • FM Radio
  • microSD card slot
  • Windows Mobile 6 is running the show
  • Dimensions: 125x62x14 mm, weight: 165 grams

Finally, the device will be available with or without the navigation software. The idea behind this move seems to let TomTom fans install their preferred app and not rely on CoPilot…

Good to see they’re making the GPS software optional. Not enjoying the Nokia experience!
