Nokia N95 using the higher-capacity Nokia N95 8GB’s BL-6F battery

One of the most welcome updates that the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N95 8GB features over the Nokia N95 is the larger, higher-capacity battery. All that techno-gadgetry packed into the Nokia N95 made the poor little thing die off too quickly, so Nokia decided to bump up the juice-holding capacity of the Nokia N95 8GB – the BL-6F battery rocks a 1200mAh battery.
Unfortunately, the new battery is not intended for the
Nokia N95 and doesn’t fit in the battery compartment. Well, I should say that the Nokia N95 8GB’s BL-6F battery doesn’t fit in the Nokia N95 without modification.
An enterprising handset-modder has decided to put the larger capacity battery intended for a Nokia N95 8GB into his Nokia N95.
Momofseven says:
“I am using the BL-6F in my N95-1. I just sanded the out of the battery cover and then sanded the battery itself, especially the plastic moldings on the ends. I had to wrap the battery with a layer of packing tape. It is surprisingly well fitting. I did buy a BL-6F from eBay
and a replacement casing in case it got screwed up.”
After a bit of shaving and sanding, Momofseven is enjoying the OEM-looking benefits of the BL-6F battery in a Nokia N95.

is not a good way to improve your N95-1 standby time life… a friend of mine try this but the battery was crashed…
Fun fact: The N95-3, N95 8gb (-2), and N95 8gb NAM (-4) all have the larger battery….and the -3/4 has US 3G for AT&T.
