Samsung G810 comes pre-loaded with CNN news applicationMobile news applications are really starting to take hold in the mobile space. With newer mobile phones, especially smartphones, making it easier to check up on news from around the web, it’s a bit surprising that news outlets are targeting mobile phones with native applications. Still, a news application is a welcome addition to any handset’s application portfolio.

CNN has announced that their new Java-based news app will bring the latest CNN news stories, customizable news feeds, and hourly CNN World News Now video bulletins to your handset. And, the CNN news application will come pre-installed on the Samsung G810.

The application even makes provisions for citizen journalists to “iReport” the latest happenings around them. The iReports features allows the savvy mobile journalist to upload videos and pictures to CNN’s citizen journalist website.

If the Samsung G810 and that glorious 5 megapixel camera unit are just out of reach, you can still get in on the action by downloading the CNN news application for your handset. Check here for handset compatibility.
