Pantech Elvis is the UTStarcom TXT8010Pantech’s latest creation for UTStarcom has just reared its head on the FCC website. Pantech has dubbed this QWERTY-toting handset the Pantech Elvis, but the FCC label in the diagram clearly shows that it’s the UTStarcom TXT8010.

The UTStarcom TXT8010 is a dual-band (850/1900Mhz) CDMA handset with text messaging as its main draw. It’s a rare vertical slider with a QWERTY keyboard underneath the wide-load display.  The slide-out QWERTY keyboard should make easy work of any text input, and the 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, Brew, and microSD card slot should appease the more technically demanding masses.

The design of this vertical slider is attractive, if a bit fat. It’ll be interesting to see how well this handset fares in a market full of QWERTY-keyboard mobile phones. But, on the up-side, the UTStarcom TXT8010 looks like a diminutive cellphone in the closed position – that could be enough to give it a leg up on the competition.

Hi, I had a question about this Phone!!!! I just wanna know where i could find txt8010 accesories, USB CABLE DATA, HEADPHONES, and also wanna know if i can change the theme (the phone has only one)and put games to this phone. Thanks

  • Richie

All the verison stores stocked up on the txt8010 aka Verison 'Blitz' accessories in q4 2008 when Wal-mart released the prepaid verison blitz. The one in town here still has um, that would be where to look first. Btw, a data cable ships with the phone, so i dunno why you need it unless you lost it… It supports Stereo bluetooth headphones, and mono headset audio + voice. My phone was bought at walmart 10 days after the release(i loved its cute chubbiness and ofcourse the querty keyboad) and it came with a data-cable and charger. Any mini-jack headset works, and any(minus a couple rare exceptions) bluetooth headphone will work. Also mine has 2 color themes(Urban and Charming) and 3 Main Menu Layout themes(Tab, List, and Grid). Grid is an icon layout(my favorite). I dont understand how you only have one theme as mine has a logical 6 themes unless another carier has released there version of this phone? As far as games go, you can buy one through the version media center, i havent figured out how to get into or if it even possible to install games on this phone without buying them… My phone uses verison prepaid(impulse) and the model number is 'txt8010PP', located under the battery, and was bought for $100. Hope this helps.

Yeah I bought my phone from wal-mart as well and it came with the data cable you could look for one at wal-mart im sure they would have one. But I kinda wanted to ask a favor from either of you I dropped my blitz in some water and was wondering if you know a way i could retrieve pictures that were on there because the phone works but the screen is ruined…its prepaid. If you have any ideas e-mail me at paularayperez@hotmail.com
