What are LG up to? For what are probably one of the leaders in tech convergence for Mobile, and as such are continually finding new and interesting combinations of features - check this out:

LG is launching the T80 in the Nordics (Denmark, for now) - the T80 is an mp3 player, but it also supports DVB-T - that is, not the “European standard Mobile TV” DVB-H (which to be fair is built on DVB-T), but from what info we have, the full DVB-T deal. But what does this mean?

Well, theoretically, digital terrestrial services could be picked up on this device (although I don’t fancy the battery life if you did) - clearly LG have a plan here - and those people in Denmark gotta be happy!

Apart from the DVB-T goodliness, here are some other specs:

  • Supports MP3, WMA, OGG and WAV
  • Suports MPEG-4 video
  • 40 hours of (audio) battery life / 2 hours of DVB-T battery life
  • 400×240-pixel touch-sensitive display
  • 4GB of non-expandable internal memory
  • Retailing for about 300 Euros

Interesting idea, not sure about the execution - no doubt though LG will have some more innovative tech feature mashups for Mobile devices in the coming weeks and months!
