Sprint delays PTT QChat system to June 15?

Sprint seems to be all about the network service delays recently. With the announcement that Sprint (NYSE: S) would be pulling back its WiMAX-based XOHM network launch to later this year, it’s not all that encouraging to hear that Sprint’s PTT (Push-To-Talk) service, dubbed QChat, could be delayed until June 15.
PhoneArena reports that the public release of QChat enabled handsets has been pushed back from April 20 to a June 15 launch window, indicating that the entire QChat service will also be delayed. It’s unclear if Sprint has delayed their service due to network technicalities or if they just wanted to give QChat customers more handset options with the launch of their service.
Either way, Sprint had better get to launching their QChat service, what with Verizon (NYSE: VZ) breathing down Sprint’s neck with a Red-branded PTT service of their own.
