The Apple iPhone is already sold out in the UK, following O2′s iPhone price cut, and now the last reliable iPhone stock has run dry. Apple’s own online store has stopped taking orders for iPhone 8Gb and iPhone 16GB handsets, indicating that Apple is gearing up to release their next-generation iPhone with 3G data connectivity.

Previously, the Apple online store showed delays of 5 to 7 days for all iPhone orders, but Apple has changed the status to “Currently Unavailable.” The global shortfall of iPhone stock, paired with Apple’s own shortage, indicates that the 3G iPhone is indeed due to launch soon.
