I saw some people converting from iphone to storm, I live the storm very much but my only concern is wifi. i have checked another posting providing complete information.

The only place I know AT&T blows absolute chunks is NYC. Otherwise it’s fine. Not great, but sufficient. No iPhone for me… holding out for the Storm!

I JUST GOT THE I PHONE AND ITS GOING BACK ASAP. THE PHONE ITS SELF IS GREAT BUT THE CELLULAR SERVICE IS AT ITS WORST. MORE BARS IN MORE PLACES MY A%#. TRY NO BARS IN MORE PLACES. IM NOT A LITTLE KID THAT LISTENS TO MUSIC OR WATCHES MOVIES ON MY PHONE I NEED TO MAKE CALLS. THEY HAD THERE CHANCE AND THE BLEW IT.

The Iphone is a failure as a fully loaded phone, a failure as a palmtop computer and a failure as a proper Ipod. Its got about 10% of the features of each. Leaving you with 70% WhereTheF*ck are the rest of the features? Yes it runs on a min version of MacOS whoopee. Just like WM6 is a mini version of windoze. Epic Failure on this product.

I agree with Raidium & Paul Hauser. Give me the touch screen but don’t loose the full keyboard. Then again, that might be what they are planning next. And bring the phone to AT&T/T-Mobile and I’ll gladly switch out my curve, which I adore!

Seriously, I don’t see what all the fuss is about a “Touch Screen” keypad. I for one have a Pearl, and I think the SureType SW works Great! A full screen with a slide out qwerty, now THAT I’d LOVE to see! Or even SureType, leaving room for other keys.

I think we should give RIM a chance. According to the media this device will have multiple radios CDMA EV-DO GSM/HSPA and may be LTE 4G(working in tandem), this is great coz then it would have a steady stream of a 3G or may be 4G spectrum. No Other phone right now can do this, if u are in some area where the phone signal is bad, your 3G drops to EDGE and EV to 1X. As far as Iphone is concerned i think every one compares other devices with it coz it has set a standard, for PHONE UI, browser etc etc. and lets see whats new on the 3G version.

The iPhone is not a productivity tool since it does not have the Phraze-It Keyboard for touch screen phones. The Phraze-It Keyboard allows typing on the screen with your fingertips. It is a complete computer keyboard on a 15 large on-screen keys. Hopefully the RIM Thunder will have the Phraze-It Keyboard.

I think you forget a really important thing, which is the operating system running on the phone. And there is no other phone, blackberry and so on which would be comparable to the iphone, where a small version of leopard is installed. The possibilities provided by this device are endless and not yet fully used. Every “iphone-killer” I have seen yet is just a joke and i am pretty sure this Thunder should be nothing more, especially because they don’t give any information about the software running on this system, probably for a good reason. Just have a look what is possible on a jailbreaked iphone, you even have emulators running on that thing.

Eltawil has a point. We really need to stop compareing devices with the iPhone. The iPhone is a great phone but it’s not the “god” of all the phones. Start comparing phones with other phones and not the iPhone. It’s getting old really fast! And secondly, the other point that was made is the send and end buttons at the bottom of the screen. Cant they just place those somewhere on the screen rather then off? A phone isn’t truely full touchscreen unless all the controls are on the screen!!

With that said, I think this phone is just what RIM needs. Finally a Blackberry with a touch screen! No more track wheel/ball navagation. Now slap a slide out QWERTY keyboard on this and you got yourself a winner!

First: When will we ever stop comparing devices to the iPhone? Is anyone here getting sick and tired of this?

Second: Phone manufacturers need to stop designing phones with call/end buttons at the bottom of the device if it has a large display. It gets pretty hard to keep a firm grip on the phone while trying to press one of those buttons with one hand.
