With the increasing popularity of Apple’s computers and other hardware, the company’s media player and media library application iTunes has been gaining traction with consumers. So, to keep their BlackBerry customers on par with the music-playing handsets of today, RIM is working on bringing iTunes-based media transfers to BlackBerries around the world.
The BlackBerry 9000 Bold is being heralded as the first media-centric BlackBerry targeted at the consumer market. So, it makes sense that RIM would be working on a solution to allow users to load up their new BlackBerry Bold handsets with media – putting that slick new UI to good use. The BlackBerry Media Sync software is being developed to “transfer your desktop iTunes music files” to BlackBerry handsets – for those times when push email loses its luster and users feel the need to rock out to their tunes.
No word on release dates, but we’re sure BlackBerry owners can’t wait for RIM to launch BlackBerry Media Sync.
