Palm Treo 800w out and about in the wild – more live pictures

With Palm (NSDQ: PALM)’s fortunes having been boosted with their popular Palm Centro handsets aimed at the decidedly dressed-down consumer market, Palm fans have been waiting on the ailing manufacturer to release their next-generation business-oriented smartphone. The Palm Treo 800w has been pictured in the wild, in all its Centro-esque keyboarding glory.
Boy Genius managed to score a Palm Treo 800w and the Windows Mobile Professional-powered Palm Treo 800w is a refreshing change from the tired, old Treo designs that Palm milked to death. Whether or not the Treo 800w design will be successful is more a matter of taste, but its nice to see Palm looking toward new design lines for their Treo portfolio. It’s also good to finally see Palm slimming down their handsets, the Treo 800w looks to be on par with the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) 8800’s girth – which is a good thing.

The Palm Treo 800w apparently rocks a 400Mhz processor and 100MB of RAM. There’s also some WiFi, EVDO Rev. A, GPS, Bluetooth and microUSB love on the Treo 800w. Unfortunately, we’re going to have to wait until July 22 before Palm goes live with their new baby. We’re left wanting more details from Boy Genius Report’s hands-on experience, but it’s only a matter of time before we see a barrage of Treo 800w pics and specs start flooding the interwebs.
Palm Treo 800w fans, your day is nigh. Anyone have a problem with Palm’s push toward Centro-like design philosophy? Chime in through the comments section.

I’ve not been a big fan of Palm devices in the past, but this one shows some real promise.

Now this is what I’ve been waiting for. That little voice in my head was telling me to leave palm and go elsewhere but im sticking it out. Things are looking up for palm. Is that a flushed screen i see?
This is a real nice looking device. I hope it’s enough to help Palm out of their slump! I give them my support.
