Nokia Maps 2.0 exits beta, still free

Nokia Maps 2.0 launched in beta form at the Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona, Spain, bringing with it a handful of features that many S60 users were likely using to great extent. So, with the application’s exit from beta testing, Nokia (NYSE: NOK) Maps 2.0 is ready to bring GPS navigation to the S60-masses for free.
Whether you’re using the “Walk” mode to make GPS navigation easier for those hitting the road with two legs or “Crumb Trail” feature to keep track of where those legs have taken you, Nokia Maps 2.0 should make quick work of GPS navigating on your Nokia handset.

Well, the application is free, but both the Walk and Drive features are subscription services for voice navigation.
N95-4 users will be happy to know that it installing the update doesn’t affect the 6-month subscription that came with the phone.
The bad news is that the new Nokia Maps still uses the old Map Loader: only works on Windows with .net framework.
