Yes, but the “i” which is the “European” model will also be the standard model outside Europe, America, and China. Therefore the stands for “i” = international, since the rest of the world does not use American 3G bands or Chinese language.

Actually the trailing c in X1c stands for China. SE:s European phones has a trailing i (don’t ask me why), the Chinese a c and I can only assume the a stands for America.
