Canon imaging expertise used in K-Touch C280’s 8 megapixel camera

Sure, high-end optics and image sensors help ensure pictures of the highest quality, but image processors are just as important in delivering great picture quality in point-and-shoot cameras.
The new K-Touch C280 8 megapixel cameraphone not only sports an 8 megapixel CMOS sensor but backs up the pixel density with a DIGIC III image processor from Canon. The K-Touch C280 offers high-megapixel cameraphone fans up to 1600 ISO and 3x optical zoom. And, there’s even the possibility that Samsung will be providing the CMOS bits.
No word on pricing or availability, but it looks like this little gem is headed to China in the near future.
