Intel and Palo Alto start up Ozmo Devices will be demoing short range WiFi personal area networks tomorrow at Computex in Asia. It has a range of 30 feet, it can connect up to 8 devices at a time and supposedly it’s fast fast fast.
But what about … “will definitely be a threat to Bluetooth technology,” says Jonathan Gruber, Analyst at In-Stat.
IDC Analyst Ajit Deosthali: “Wi-Fi over PAN is promising but has a lot of catching up to do.”
Now we all know analysts can be wrong and they can be right, but here is a prediction: Bluetooth will keep on marching on, Intel is trying too hard to push yet another standard down people’s throats when they don’t need it.
