T-Mobile rolls out unlimited family plans, adds 7PM nights and mobile-to-mobile minutes to pre-paid plans

We knew there was a reason that T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) was ranked No. 1 in wireless customer satisfaction by JD Power and Associates.

With the recent spate of unlimited wireless plans launched from almost every single US wireless carrier, it was only a matter of time before one of the Big Four wised up and launched a family-plan flavored unlimited rate plan.

T-Mobile has announced that it will be bringing the convenience of flat-rate, unlimited rate plans to the whole family. T-Mobile’s unlimited plan still costs about $100 per month, but now family members (or friends) can add-on an additional unlimited line (up to 4 additional lines) for just $50 more per month. While other carriers still require each mobile subscriber to pony up $100 per month for unlimited wireless service, T-Mobile is the first US carrier to introduce family-plan pricing to the unlimited arena. T-Mobile’s move to introduce family-friendly unlimited calling plans could prompt the other big-dog wireless carriers to adopt similar pricing schedules – or at least they should.

And, to keep things moving on the pre-paid tip, T-Mobile has announced that pre-paid customers can enjoy unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling on their pre-paid T-Mobile calling plans. Free night minutes also start at a calling-friendly 7pm, making the pre-paid offering from T-Mobile that much more attractive.
