120 hours of music playback on your mobile? Thank the Wolfson WM8903

The best handsets on the market today, in terms of how many hours it can play back music, are the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N78 and the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone 3G, both claim to do 24 hours. Wolfson recently introduced a new chip called the WM8903 that is supposed to bump up the number of hours you can annoy people sitting on the bus next to you with that new death metal band from Denmark to 120 hours. Handsets shipping next year with nVidia based processors should feature this solution.

120 hours of music playback?! That’s amazing.
Can’t wait for nVidia to get their wares to market – especially with their slick UI.
Imagine this combined w/ the battery innovations that are soon to come
!!!!
That one lithium Ion technology that utilized tiny hairs claimed it would increase the length by 30X
so, w/ this chip and that battery
120 X 30 = 3600 Hours of Playback!!!!!
Zak makes a good point! Is this 120 hours based on the battery technology in most phones today? Or with the next line of batteries? Because if this is based on the current ones in the market today then this is more the revolutionary!!
This thing could produce a rediculious amount of playback with unlimited potential! This is pretty sweet!
