T-Mobile announces Sidekick LX update

T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) today announced an update for Sidekick LX owners. A host of upgrades is promised to the existing LX users — including video recording, spell checker, play and share capabilities, an alarm clock, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), Bluetooth file transfer support, and more. The over-the-air (OTA) update will start making the rounds this week, so if you own the LX – prepare to boost your device’s capability to the Tony Hawk’s level.

The official release date wuz June 25th not July 25th…before the Tony Hawk LX wuz made available…everyone is supposed to have the update by August 1st.

To M3lVin…go on google and type in “sidekick lx ota update” there’s an article from boy genius & many other sites with the official release date as June 25th as well as the rumored picture as whut the Sidekick Gekko/ Aspen/ 2008…looks lyk & when it will be released. And yes it will be available to everyone with an LX..the only ones who won’t get it are the Tony Hawx SE LX becuz it has all the features the update will provide

Still not here what’s taking so long and I just got my sidekick and I don’t have the email tabs yet that came with the last update will all that be included with this update someone tell me please
@john: ok..do u have the sidekick lx cause if you do then tabs suppose to automatically come on there and second the only thing that comes with this update is video recording, bluetoothing music photos, better messenger, web suppose to be enhance, quick search and spelling check but noting about email tabs.
I been got my sidekicc lx but I don’t have the e-mail tabs so wat is going on. My shit is all basic, all stocc phone.

To everybody complainin about e-mail tabs…you have to be e-mail area go to “view” it gives u options for diff. tabs..its sumtin that came standard with the LX

Click on the e-mail icon on ya sk & hit ya menu button..it’ll show you a list & click on “view” there’s 3 options for e-mail tabs.

I believe so. B/c havin Data coverage (the little “G”) is what keeps u connected 2 the network (I.e. Internet, catalog, instant messages, etc.) by GPRS.
My fellow sidekicc user I need ur help, with an email, can you help me? I need to know how to make another e-mail account other then tmail. I try to do it but it keep telling me that some shit fail or something isn’t right. If you do help with my problem please give me direction of how to do it, step by step.
P.S. The only reason why I’m doing this cuz iam bored out of my freaking mind and I have no money right now to go out and drink cuz I lost it all to gambling.

To All Lx User’s I Live In Bako, California .. Yesterday I Went Down To L.A For A Car Show I’m Goin Over The Grapevine (Mountains) I Lose Signal (like usual) I Get To L.a Restore Service.. Thn Outta No Where I Lost Service Completely Like From Time To Time It Work Thn Like No Joke 30 Seconds Later The G On The Top Right Would Dissapear And It Show The White and Black Phone Indicating (searching).. The trip was terribal I couldn’t Evn Call T-mobile it Wasn’t after 2 Hours After I Got Home Tht It Startedd Working Like Normal Does Any One Know What I’m Talking About? Does the upgrade come automatically with just havin the sidekick and the web browser or do u gotta go through sometin else 2 be allowed to upgrade it?

Ok my sidekick restarted by itself when it came back on every thing was gone well as it everything starts to come back my email is takeing a LONG time to receive everything I sent an email this moring and it still haven’t sent I sent myself 3 email from my yahoo ac. And I still haven’t gotten them is that normal and will I get my emails that I sent myself please tell me

Go 2 email hit yo menu button go down to accounts roll the trackball over 2 the right then u can add yahoo,aol,or pop/Imap

The update is ok not the best but its wat ever it has a spell check and I find it to be a lot faster……
yeahhhh i got mine 2day..it’s really kool but i dont know how to find my alarm clock but besides that its really nice..my phone even works a lot faster even my internet goes faster and yes it just pops up on ur screen asking u if u want ur upgrade and it gives u optionz it’s gonna restart and then sum other stuff will pop up and you’ll have a whole new system…WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…i luv it =)

The tabs came with the first ota we got. I think someone needs to check on if we’ll get them with da new ota but I highly doubt it. (I say we cause I had update but I lost my fone n da new one didn’t come wit it)
My sidekick acting mad stupid too. I live right beside 95 so I usually keep service but it get flakey now a days. Dnt even get me started on how fucked up google look

question, say my phone was cut off for a whole day & I didn’t get it back to service ’til later. would they have re-sent the ota update again or did I miss the chance. or regardless if I had no service, would I still have gotten it?

This is funny! You guys wouldn’t be so impatient if they would have never said anything about it until after it was released to the public.
